Facilitating cervical cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer screening and treatment in collaboration with district hospitals and health centers to ensure accessible services for rural communities.
Engaging selected primary and secondary schools in impact districts to educate students on cervical cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and other NCDs, promoting a culture of early prevention and awareness.
mpowering communities by training leaders including traditional, religious, and community based leaders to serve as advocates and gatekeepers of knowledge on cervical cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and other cancers and NCDs.
Raising awareness on the link between alcohol consumption and cancer, including advocating for health warnings on alcohol bottles and containers to inform the public of specific cancer risks associated with alcohol use.
Continued advocacy against tobacco smoking, highlighting its association with various cancers and NCDs, and pushing for stronger tobacco control measures to protect public health
Integrating health outreach programs on cancer and HIV/AIDS for women and girls, focusing on raising awareness, offering screening, and providing education on the dual risks of cancer (especially cervical and breast cancer) and HIV/AIDS among high-risk communities.
Delivering targeted cancer prevention and care for key populations including female sex workers, women who use drugs, and women living with HIV by addressing their unique risks and ensuring equitable access to screening and treatment.
Advocating for increased financing for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) programs, ensuring that NCDs are recognized as a public health priority at local, national, and international levels.
Promoting equitable access to essential medicines, with continued and sustained advocacy to reduce barriers to life-saving treatments for cancer and other NCDs.
Providing ongoing patient advocacy, care, and support services to improve the quality of life for women and girls affected by cancer and NCDs.
Strengthening partnerships, networks, and collaborations with like-minded organizations, promoting innovative approaches to cancer prevention and control while amplifying the impact of WOCACA’s work.
Promote the integration of cancer prevention, treatment, and care into human rights and GBV frameworks by advocating for equitable healthcare access, combating stigma and discrimination, and empowering GBV survivors to seek timely treatment as a fundamental right to health and dignity.
Address the link between cancer, women’s health, and climate change by advocating for policies that reduce environmental cancer risks, improving healthcare access in climate vulnerable communities, and raising awareness of climate change’s impact on women’s health
